Established in 1891, the Boys & Girls Club of New Britain, Inc. is a non-profit youth-centered agency with a diversified membership serving over 2770 members ranging from 6 through 18 years. It is one of the most affordable and accessible youth centers in the city of New Britain, Connecticut. It provides our members with year-round educational, recreational and preventive programs; and skills necessary to equip them for future success.

The Boys & Girls Club of New Britain serves as a safe haven for youth where they learn and grow while having fun under the protective eyes of caring adults during critical after school hours. Our Club really serves as the POSITIVE Place For Kids.

In addition to “drop-in” programs for youth (ages 6 – 18,) the Club also offers a state licensed all day school readiness program for 40 children between ages 3 and 4 year olds. This is a NAEYC Accredited program and the fees are based on a sliding scale according to income.

Our Youth Development Strategy 

We believe in a time-tested Youth Development Strategy. Our Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling:

            A Sense of Competence: The feeling there is something boys and girls can do and do well.

            A Sense of Usefulness: The opportunity to do something of value for other people.

            A Sense of Belonging: A setting where young people know they "fit" and are accepted.

            A Sense of Power or Influence: A chance to be heard and to influence decisions.
